Colgate Cottage

Key considerations were maximising space and functionality while balancing the connection between heritage detailing and a contemporary aesthetic.

Old meets new in our colourful design for this original worker’s cottage. Our clients were extending the cottage and engaged us before the build to perfect their interior design, selecting all colours, finishes, fixtures, lighting and completing the joinery design.

The owners love colour and were excited for us to invite fun through colour, pattern and texture across the kitchen cabinets, bathroom tiles and powder room wallpaper.

We transformed the second bedroom into a living room and worked with the architect to create arches that define the room and link with the hall and dining room. Circular patterning in the decorative ceilings mirror the curves of the arches, creating cohesion with the home’s heritage.
